Every time an unknown email name is received by your Email server a Non-Delivery Report (NDR) is generated by your Email server. This report is sent back to the sender of the email. Because spammers use forged, hijacked or illegitimate sending addresses, every piece of non-deliverable spam will generate at least one to three pieces of NDR reports as reply mail from your server. Like a ping pong message loop - these spam and NDR Email’s bounce back and forth between your Email server and someone else’s server. This series of receiving, sending, responding and looping can consume a lot of processing time and reduce performance of your servers.
