Buying "Home" PCs Verse "Commercial" PCs
Getting more for your investment:
Have you been considering buying new PCs? Looking for
new computers can be confusing. The price ranges from $799.00
and up for a "Starter" Home PC, and $1,201.00 or
higher for a Commercial class Business PC. Look
at our prices to see if a computer is affordable for you!
Whats best for you is easy to determine. Take a moment to look at:
If you intend to use a computer for work purposes, 8 hours a day or longer, you need a commercial PC. If using less, a home PC may work. Commercial PCs use heavy duty components and would hold up better in continuous use environments.
The Intel C400 is a great home PC. It is an Intel Celeron 400MHz with 64MB for only $799.00.
The need for more than a "starter" PC:
If all you do is word processing and Internet browsing, a "starter" home PC may work. You will need a commercial PC if you need to network your stations, perform high resolution fast CADD video graphics, tape or CD-ROM back-up, easy to look at low flicker video. Commercial systems also offer easy upgrades and swap out of components.

Available local service for your
PC:
If the computer needs to be repaired and you cannot wait more than a day or two, and you need your disk drive information kept intact, you need a commercial system. If the hard drive is not affected, your data should remain in-tact. However, back-ups are always recommended and are your responsibility.
Commercial systems typically use readily available heavy duty components that can expedite repairs. Home PCs use proprietary components or all-in-one system boards that could cause complete system failure if one component blows. For Home PCs, a proprietary replacement will need to be ordered or you would return the product to the factory with your hard drive. This could stall repairs for weeks not to mention possible loss of data.
Ask yourself if your computers are critical to your business. If you should you have a system failure, determine how easy is it put in place a replacement to get work going again.
If downtime is critical, you need a commercial system, for reliability, timeliness of repairs, business productivity and profitability.
